1338    :     The hundred year’s war broke out; It lasted up to 1453.

1492    :     Columbus sailed on his first exepedition to the West Indies which later led to

     the discovery of America.

1498    :    (20^th May) Vasco de gama, a Portuguese, discovered the sea route via the cape  

                  of good hope; arrived at Calicut.

1564    :      birth of Shakespeare.

1616    :     Shakespeare passes away.

1649-60:   The commonwealth & the protectorate in England.

1660    :     Restoration of Monarchy in England.

1668    :     The bloodless or glorious in England. Despotic rule of the Stuarts ended & the

                    England .

                   assassinated.
